How to Prepare & Submit Handwriting & Drawings Handwriting submissions often require us to isolate or reposition words, and adjust the layout to fit your chosen piece. Throughout this process, we preserve the character of the original handwriting as closely as possible. WRITING A NEW MESSAGE? Use clean, unlined white paper. Write with a black medium-tip sharpie/marker Write naturally rather than trying to make it perfect. Write as big as possible. Leave a little space around each word or phrase. Create several versions for us to review. Allow the ink to dry before photographing or scanning it. Send the complete page rather than a tightly cropped image. CREATING A NEW DRAWING? Use plain white paper for the clearest result. Strong/thick, visible lines reproduce more clearly than faint marks. Keep the drawing natural and unedited. Do not trace over the original. Send the entire page so we can preserve its proportions. Pencil, crayon and coloured artwork can still be submitted for assessment. USING HANDWRITING/DRAWINGS FROM AN EXISTING DOCUMENT? We can often work with handwriting found in letters, postcards, journals and other personal documents. Preparing it for engraving may involve digitally removing surrounding or overlapping words and lines, then isolating or repositioning the chosen words to fit your piece. Throughout this process, we preserve the character of the original handwriting as closely as possible. If you are unsure whether your document or drawing is suitable, please contact us for an assessment. Scan or photograph your document WHEN PHOTOGRAPHING A DOCUMENT Place it on a flat surface. Use soft, even lighting. Hold the camera directly above it. Make sure the image is sharp and in focus. Avoid flash, glare and heavy shadows. Photograph the entire document. Send a second, closer image of the detail you would like used. Tell us exactly which words, signature or drawing to extract. Because Forever-With-You pieces may involve personal content (such as fingerprints, handwriting, or voice recordings) we handle all submitted information with care, discretion, and strict purpose limitation. Purpose of the app The app captures and processes fingerprint images to create engraving-ready renderings used in the creation of Forever-With-You jewelry. Fingerprints are considered sensitive biometric data. In this app, fingerprints are captured only as images for artistic engraving purposes. The app does not perform biometric identification, authentication, or identity verification. You should capture only your own fingerprint, or another person’s fingerprint with their informed consent. What the app captures The app may capture and process: Fingerprint images captured using your device camera Engraving-ready renderings derived from those images Optional metadata entered by you (such as finger labels or notes) The app does not automatically collect identity information unless you choose to include it in optional notes. Where the data is stored Fingerprint data is stored primarily on your device. Captured images and related metadata may be stored within the app’s private data directory on your device for a limited period. This directory is sandboxed, meaning other apps cannot access it without device-level access. When you export a capture, the app generates an encrypted .fwy file, which is temporarily stored on your device before you choose how to share it. The app does not create or maintain a biometric database and does not store fingerprint data on external servers. Retention within the app Fingerprint images and metadata remain on your device until you delete them, or the app removes them after a limited period. You may delete captures or discard sessions at any time. Exported files remain wherever you save or share them and must be deleted manually if you wish them to be removed. Data transmission The app does not automatically upload fingerprint images to external servers. Files leave your device only when you explicitly export or share them using your device’s sharing features. No fingerprint data is transmitted to us or to third parties unless you explicitly choose to export and share the file. Security Exported .fwy files are encrypted. On-device data is stored in the app’s secure sandboxed environment. While reasonable safeguards are implemented, you remain responsible for protecting exported files once they leave the app. Important limitations. The fingerprint capture app is intended solely for artistic engraving purposes. The app does not perform biometric identification, authentication, or identity verification. Fingerprints are processed only as images to generate artistic engraving references. By submitting fingerprint images, handwriting, drawings, voice recordings, or other personalization content, you represent that you have the legal right and appropriate consent to provide that information for the purpose of creating the requested jewelry. How personalization data is used Forever-With-You information is used only to: design and produce your jewelry communicate with you regarding your order support reorders or additional pieces where design files are retained Fingerprints and the finished jewelry Only a portion of a fingerprint is used. The engraving is a stylized artistic interpretation. The finished jewelry does not contain a full fingerprint The fingerprint-based design file created for engraving is a limited artistic derivative of the original submission and is not designed or intended for biometric identification, verification, or device access. It is also materially less useful for those purposes than the original, full fingerprint image. Confidentiality and security Personalization files are handled with strict confidentiality. Files are stored securely and accessed only by those involved in designing and producing your jewelry. We apply reasonable safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. Sharing with trusted production partners We do not sell personal information. In some cases, limited personalization data may be shared with carefully selected third parties where required to complete specialized production processes. Only the minimum information necessary is shared, and appropriate confidentiality and data protection safeguards are required of those parties. Retention of personalization data All original personalization materials, including full fingerprint images and every original file listed above, are generally deleted within 60 days after the jewelry has been completed and delivered. ENGAGEMENT RINGS & FINE JEWELRY Complimentary to you, we will replace or repair any piece that is damaged due to manufacturing defects (e.g. prongs that need to be tightened etc.) for a period of one year from the purchase date. Normal wear and tear and damages due to neglect, abuse or accidents are NOT covered by our warranty and will be repaired at a cost to the customer. Warranty coverage is based upon our inspection and sole determination. Regular upkeep of your jewelry is required to maintain your warranty. This includes paying for any normal repairs required due to wear, damage, or abuse. Please note that ONLY pieces registered for warranty will be covered. Registration also automatically qualifies you to receive invitations to special events and new collection launches. Invitations or notifications will be sent out no more than four times per year. Josanne Mark Ltd. guarantees that your personal details are safe and will not be shared with any third party individuals or organizations. How to Capture & Submit Fingerprint Impressions All submissions are reviewed before production. If the material is unsuitable or a clearer version is required, we will contact you. Method 1: using an ink pad Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Use black or dark blue stationary ink and clean, unlined white paper. Lightly coat the fingertip without oversaturating it. Press the finger firmly onto the paper. Lift it directly upwards to avoid smudging. Capture multiple prints so we can select the clearest. Allow the ink to dry before photographing or scanning the page. For the clearest results: The ridges should be visible. The print should not appear heavily inked or blurred. unusable unusable the perfect imprint Method 2:using a graphite pencil Wash and dry hands thoroughly. Shade a dark, even patch using a soft graphite pencil. Press clear adhesive tape onto the fingertip. Carefully lift the tape without sliding it Gently rub the fingertip across the shaded area. Place the tape flat onto clean white paper. Repeat the process two or three times. Want to Use an Existing Fingerprint? A fingerprint impression already held by your family may be suitable, including one belonging to a loved one who has passed. Send the highest-quality scan or photograph available. Include the complete, uncropped image. Do not apply filters, sharpening or digital alterations. Keep the original document safely in your possession. To Submit: Scan or photograph your fingerprint impressions For photographs, capture at least 2 images: the entire page and a close-up of the clearest fingerprint/s. For a clear photograph: Place the page flat, in bright even light. Hold your phone directly above the page. Avoid flash, shadows and glare. Check that the fingerprint ridges are sharp and visible. Submit the original images without filters or editing. When placing your online order, upload your scan or photograph using the upload field provided on the product page.
